This is one of those recipes that has so few ingredients, but just works. The simple flavours combine in the best way and give you a dish that’s so tasty. These Garlic French Beans are a super quick and easy side to add some nutrition and colour to your plate, without sacrificing an ounce of flavour. Hints of garlic, with tasty fresh parsley, topped with some flaky sea salt to bring it all together, it’s just delicious.
The recipe is another one that’s inherited from my family. When my mum was a child she spent some time living in France. My Grandma picked up some influences of the regional cooking style, and these beans are one of the recipes that made it out of France with my family, and we’ve been making them ever since. Usually, recipes opt to leave green beans crunchy, but this recipe cooks them until soft to enhance the flavours. If the odd bean gets a little crispy on the edge when cooking, it just adds a little more texture. You can’t go wrong!
These beans pair really well with any meat or fish meal. The flavours, while delicious, aren’t overpowering. They take less than 20 minutes start to finish, so they’re perfect for a quick weeknight dinner with some grilled fish or chicken. Add some green to your plate and give my Garlic French Beans a try!
